Meet the Beetles: Mountain Pine Beetle in Aspen's Backyard 1
Join ACES and experts from For the Forest for this weekend event to learn about the mountain pine beetle and the threat it poses to the Roaring Fork Valley. The program begins with a short lecture and Q&A session at ACES on Friday night and continues with a field trip on Saturday to see the beetles in action. A hike up Smuggler Mountain and into the Hunter Creek Valley will give you an up close look at the beetles in their natural habitat. A local, organic picnic lunch will be provided. Based on Arnold Lobel's "Frog and Toad" stories, featuring well-loved characters that hop from the page to the stage in WIllie and Robert Reale's musical A Year with Frog and Toad. The musical remains true to the spirit of the original stories as it follows two great friends. Ages 4 and up.
