The Gideon Gartner Gallery features experimental and site-specific artwork and showcases the Ranch’s long history of creating and exhibiting dynamic and ground-breaking work. Through a juried process, an artist was selected for this exhibition. Free and open to the public.

"Slow Growth Sprouts in Aspen" features former county commissioners Joe Edwards and Michael Kinsley in a program that will look at the precedent-setting 1970's-era policies of controlling growth to help maintain a community's character, some of program's successes and consequences and where we go from here. Towsley, the author of “It’s Okay to Fall”, as she brings this uplifting story to life and shares some important lessons about determination and tenacity. The reading level is intended for ages 3-8, but appeals to determined “skaters” of all ages.

This popular eight-week series is entering its seventh year at the largest of the four area mountains, Snowmass. It has become a mainstay and weekly favorite for the best snowboarders and skiers in the state of Colorado. Each week they gather to perform the latest tricks for a chance at a weekly prize purse and series points on the busy Fanny Hill/Snowmass Mall intersection. Judges will choose four skiers and four snowboarders from the jam session to continue on to the finals. The finalists will have one jump and then be placed according to best trick. The 23rd Aspen Parks and Recreation Owl Creek Chase will be held on Sunday, February 14th with a start time of 11am at the Snowmass XC Center. On-line registration is available at Active.com and citizen 21k racers will be allowed to register the day of the race but with a slightly higher entry fee. In addition to the Owl Creek Chase, Saturday will also see the AVSC host middle school, high school and Citizen races at the AVSC Clubhouse, the finish venue for the Owl Creek Chase.

Another tradition with the Owl Creek weekend is the Ute Mountaineer Skate with the Pros clinic on Monday morning at the Aspen XC Center. Citizen racers can join several of the pros from Saturday's Owl Creek Chase for a free skating clinic.
