The Holiday Season in the Roaring Fork Valley is packed full of events and activities for locals, families and visitors. Christmas Dinner Menus:

Christmas Dinner – Brothers’ Grille at the Silvertree Hotel in Snowmass. December 25, 5-9pm – A traditional Christmas dinner is served, buffet style with all the trimmings, in the Brothers’ Grille. Bring your family and friends together for a relaxing gourmet holiday meal. $50 per person, children 3–10 years of age half price. Location and Reservations

Wienerstube Restaurant – Aspen, Colorado: Open for Christmas, the authentic Austrian restaurant Wienerstube is serving a traditional Weihnachts Menu. Santa, December 13 – Santa visits the Aspen Recreation Center from 3:00pm to 6:00pm. Details

Santa, December 16, 20 – Santa is hitting the Silvertree Hotel main lobby, featuring their giant traditional Christmas tree. Mr. Claus will be taking requests from 4:30-6:30pm Details

Santa, December 17, 18, 19 – Santa will appear at the WIN Health Institute. 4pm-5:30pm in the Atrium. Enjoy organic hot chocolate, take a picture with Santa, and help WIN Health Institute celebrate the holidays! Details

Elves or Elfs? December 17 – Olaf the Elf visits Hallam Lake at the Aspen Center for Environmental Studies on the 17th. Sven the Elf visits Rock Bottom Ranch: December 18th. Details

Crafts, December 18 – Holiday Kids Krafts, Colorful, creative and fun holiday arts & crafts await children looking for something to do off the slopes. During this supervised hour, Kids Krafts will send children home with a special handmade holiday souvenir of their Snowmass vacation. Meet in the Treehouse Kids Adventure Center. Cost: FREE! Every Tues & Thursdays in December. Details

Santa’s Village & Carolers-a-Caroling, December 21-24th – The North Pole comes to the Snowmass Village Mall when Santa’s magical village opens to hear the last minute requests of good girls and boys. Photos with Santa are offered daily throughout the week. Each afternoon carolers stroll through the Snowmass Mall singing favorite Christmas carols, while John Sommers and Twirp Anderson serenade guests in The Silvertree Hotel lobby with mountain favorites and seasonal songs. Gingerbread Decorating, Silvertree Hotel, December 22 – Gingerbread Decoration. Our guests can get their little ones into the spirit of the holiday with gingerbread decorating. All the treats they make can go home with them!

Christmas Eve Storytelling at The Silvertree Hotel, Local authors Jill Sheeley and Johnny Boyd offer special story times. On Christmas Eve, Santa will delight by reading holiday tales before a roaring fireplace in The Silvertree Hotel Lobby. December 19 (4:30 p.m.), 20 (3:30 p.m.), 24 (4:30 p.m.) and 30 (3:30 pm).

New Years Eve for the Kids – Parents can enjoy a night on the town while the kids whoop it up at the Aspen Recreation Center. This years New Year’s Eve Party and Childcare is for children 6 years old and up, December 31st from 6pm to 1am. Details

Holiday Events:

Holiday Open House December 16 Anderson Ranch Arts Center Holiday Open House from 5:00-8:00 PM. Come warm yourself by the creative glow and celebrate the Holiday Spirit at Anderson Ranch. On December 16th, the Ranch opens its doors to the community in celebration of our Artists’ Residence program. Follow candle-lit paths to the open resident artist and staff studios and enjoy food and drink at the Holiday Exhibition in the cozy upstairs gallery. Our Holiday Exhibition features current works from resident artists and staff at Anderson Ranch and runs until December 18, 2008.

Aspen Santa Fe Ballet presents The Nutcracker, Saturday, December 20, 21 – Aspen Santa Fe Ballet’s presentation of The Nutcracker is a magical journey not to be missed. Children of all ages will marvel at this sumptuous production with its magnificent sets and thrilling dance with a cast of over 60 dancers, actors, and circus artists. Year after year, families cherish this whimsical holiday tradition. Details

Torchlight Parade, December 23 at 7pm, Snowmass – Whether viewer or participant, the annual torchlight parade down Snowmass’ slopes looks magnificently luminous! Moms, Dads and Kids ages 8 and older are invited to be part of the trail of light down the mountain. Cost to participate: Free! For more information, stop by the Information Desk in the Ticket Pavilion.
