Melanoma Awareness Day at Sunlight
Sunlight Mountain Resort, Glenwood springs, Colorado hosts Melanoma Awareness Day on March 6th, 2010. The day is held in memory of Brad Lanpher who spent many of his days skiing at Sunlight. The Melanoma Research Foundation will be present to solicit donations. The donations will help support medical research for finding effective treatments and eventually a cure for melanoma and to help educate patients and physicians about the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of melanoma. The MRF also acts as an advocate for the melanoma community to raise the awareness of this disease and the need for a cure.
Dr. Kelly Thomas, a dermatologist who works with Glenwood Medical Associates will be available in the lodge from 9AM to 12PM to provide free melanoma screenings.
Sunlight will match donations of $20 or more to the MRF with a complimentary 2010/11 Adult Lift Ticket. Each donation of at least $20 will be given a ticket and only one ticket is allowed per donation.
