Todd Slossberg Named Executive Chef at Aspen Meadows Resort

Tom Cox, General Manager of Aspen Meadows Resort, announces today that Chef Todd Slossberg has taken over as Executive Chef at Aspen Meadows Resort. Slossberg will oversee all food and beverage needs at the resort including conferences, special events at the Doerr-Hosier Center and the intimate Plato’s Restaurant.

“We’re extremely excited to have Chef Slossberg join our team. His sophisticated style will complement Aspen Meadows Resort perfectly,” says Cox.

Chef Todd Slossberg, Executive Chef of Aspen Meadows ResortSlossberg, who has lived in the Aspen area for the past 20 years, is known for using only the freshest seasonal ingredients in his food. He says that he enjoys the creative process of making each dish and that he strives to create dishes that enhance the quality of the ingredients he uses through fresh and simple presentation. His unique and creative style garnered him two consecutive nominations from the James Beard Foundation for “Best Chef in the Southwest.”

“I’ve always been drawn to the uniqueness of the Aspen Meadows Resort. There’s nothing else like it in town,” Slossberg says. “I’m very excited that I have the opportunity to further enhance this exceptional property.”

Slossberg attended the Culinary Institute of America, from which he graduated with honors. He came to the Aspen area in the late 1980s and worked at the Hotel Jerome for more than 15 years. His work at the Jerome won him much praise from magazines like Bon Appétit, Gourmet and Food + Wine and also earned the hotel the prestigious “Ivy Award” from Restaurants and Institutions magazine in 2005. Prior to coming to Aspen Meadows, Slossberg owned and operated a restaurant and catering firm in Basalt, Crave Kitchen and Catering.
